At Jane Doe No More, we’re working hard to generate awareness about the crime of sexual assault.  We are making progress in our goal to dispel the myths and break the stigmas so logo_intoften associated with this violent crime.  We’re committed to providing education and training tools for law enforcement, medical, and legal professionals to ensure proper treatment of the victim.  It’s our goal that every person who interacts with a victim will be better prepared — so that no further emotional harm is inflicted, and that the healing process is allowed to continue.  At Jane Doe No More, our mission is to shorten the time from crime to healing, and give victims every chance for a full and healthy recovery.

Donna Palomba founded Jane Doe No More in January 2007 for one simple and compelling reason:  she wanted to help other victims of sexual assault.   After 14 years of being “Jane Doe” in police files and media reports, Donna came forward with her story in the hope that other victims would realize that they did nothing wrong; that being raped was not their fault and that it does not diminish who they are.  She also wanted to see law enforcement policies and procedures changed and training improved so that the critical mistakes made at the scene of the crime and the subsequent emotional abuse she suffered at the hands of the police would never, ever happen again.

Jane Doe No More Inc. is made up of legal, medical, scientific, law enforcement, education, and victim’s services experts, and a growing legion of supporters who have heard Donna Palomba’s story and felt compelled to come forward themselves, or are moved to ask “what can I do to help?” Donna speaks regularly to business and women’s groups, conducts countless media interviews on the subject of sexual assault, and provides overall direction to the organization – all the while serving as managing member of a successful integrated marketing communications firm she helped start. Her work is extraordinary in that she is determined to turn her own rape and subsequent abuse by the police — something so horrific, so unimaginable, and so very personal – into something incredibly positive for the thousands of women and men who are sexually assaulted in the United States each year.
