Canterbury, the Episcopal student ministry at the College of William and Mary, will be holding its annual black tie gala and silent auction at the William and Mary Alumni House this February. All gala proceeds go to scholarships for impoverished schoolchildren in Belize. With these scholarships, students will be guaranteed access to comprehensive, quality education through the eighth grade. As valued members of the local community, we are asking for your support at this critical time.
This project is part of a larger service effort to improve access to education among the country’s poorest residents. The average San Pedro resident earns the equivalent of $20 a day, and most families cannot afford school tuition and fees for their children. The proceeds of these items will go directly to scholarships for students to attend Holy Cross Anglican School in San Pedro, the only school in the area that offers year-round, consistent education through the eighth grade. As a 501(c)3 charitable donation, all gifts are tax- deductible. Donors will also be listed at the gala event to acknowledge sponsorship of this worthwhile project.
Your commitment to these children will make a personal and substantial impact in their lives. Through your generosity you will become part of a broader effort to lift them out of poverty and bring them hope, prosperity, and an opportunity for a better future. Please feel free to contact me at (832) 465-6950 or via email at kekiel@email.wm.edu with any questions or concerns. We thank you for your time and are grateful for your partnership.
