Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) is a genetic bone disorder characterized by fragile bones that break easily. It is also known as “brittle bone disease.” The term literally means “bone that is imperfectly made from the beginning of life.” A person is born with this disorder and is affected throughout his or her life time.
Our Mission
The Children’s Aid Foundation is a national charity dedicated to improving the lives of abused, neglected and high-risk children and youth in communities across Canada. As a registered charity, we raise funds to implement programs that give these children and youth the skills and support they need to reach their full potential.
Our Unique Position
With a separate endowment that covers our administrative expenses, we are in the unique position to guarantee that 100% of all donations are directed to programming for children and youth in need. By maximizing our return on investment, donors can rest assured that all donations will have an immediate and long-lasting impact.
The 23rd annual Teddy Bear Affair will take place on November 14, 2009 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. It will be an unforgettable and spectacular evening of live entertainment where guests will also enjoy a champagne reception, a five-course gourmet dinner, a silent auction, and a thrilling live auction.
The Live Auction will feature a limited number of very exclusive trips and items. Sponsored by our national carrier, Air Canada, we will auction 12 unique packages. Past sponsors who have participated in our award winning event include: Brentview Electronics, Harvest House, Mr. Billiard, Goway Travel, Miele, and Starwood Hotels & Resorts just to name a few.
