Curious, intense, creative, persistent; an acute sense of justice; a keen sense of humor; opinionated and independent; sensitive and perceptive are all words and phrases that describe gifted children.
A promising mind needs both great care and extraordinary nourishment, especially in a child. The curriculum at the Ricks Center is designed to address the whole child, including his or her emotional, intellectual, aesthetic, physical and social needs.
“What does it mean to be gifted? Here at the Ricks Center we’re looking for intensity, sensitivity and that ability to see patterns and relationships in sometimes seemingly unrelated things.”
