Denver, CO. (March 10, 2009) — VacationHomesForCharity.org, the philanthropy division of TheSociety.com, provided two rental vacation homes for local charities in Orange County, California. The two vacation home rentals were auctioned to the highest bidder generating in excess of $40,000 in charitable contributions.

On Friday evening, Fight Night XI hosted at the Marconi Automotive Museum in Tustin, CA benefited the Marconi Foundation for Kids and The Freedom Writers Foundation. Guests included luminaries from the entertainment and sports industries. Seven nights at The Villa dei Sogni (Villa of Dreams) a 4-bedroom vacation villa with a private pool located on an enchanting hillside overlooking the Town of Bellagio and Lake Como in northern Italy was the most anticipated auction item, raising over $10,000 during competitive bidding.

On Saturday evening, the annual Athletes First Classic raised money for the Orangewood Foundation, a program for abused and disadvantaged children. One highlight of the evening’s auctions was the opportunity to enjoy seven nights at the Casa De Golf, a spectacular 8-bedroom vacation residence located on the 18th hole of the Hacienda Pinilla Golf Club in beautiful Santa Cruz, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. The auction of Casa De Golf generated $30,000 in contributions.

“We are honored to assist these two most admirable charitable organizations and generate $40,000 in contributions,” said Michael McFadden, the co-founder of The Society adding “a 7-night stay in a luxury vacation residence may be the premier attraction for a fund-raising event. Our program is a win-win for the donor, the non-profit recipient and the vacationer enjoying a luxury vacation residence.  We encourage all vacation home owners to donate a week.  It’s easy, it’s flexible, and it’s doing good with underutilized assets.”
